The water

How warm is Lake Naivasha?

The water is warmest in April, around 22 °C at the surface, and coldest in July, around 19 °C. The surface averages 20 °C or more from September to June: comfortable for most swimmers.

It does not normally freeze in winter.

On the shore, afternoons reach 26 °C on average in February and 20 °C in June. The driest month is February (45 mm of rain), the wettest April (196 mm).
